Global Village is proud to offer all learners of English something they will truly appreciate as they go on with their language courses — a 240-page pad of carefully selected language organizers to help them learn English more effectively and memorize important new words faster.

Apart from its educational value, the pad is an artefact in itself — beautifully printed on eco paper in two shades of white, each page with two holes punched, ready to place in a binder. The cover boasts a bold, abstract picture by Leon Tarasewicz, a celebrated contemporary Polish artist. Many thanks, Leon.

It makes a great gift for anybody who learns English, at any age and any level. Global Village students get it for free. Others will need to shell out 8zł.

Lesson notes organizer

The page is split in two columns. The left column is for the phrases your teacher chooses as important and puts on the board for the whole group to re-write. In the right column you list your own selection of phrases and sentences. You decide if they are useful, interesting and worth remembering, either during lessons or when you are reading on your own at home. There is some space reserved on the page for the date, lesson number and homework details.

Alternatively, you may use lesson notes organizer as a transfer page for your homework. Some exercises in course books require you to match two halves of a sentence or complete a dialogue. Then, just ignore the columns’ headings and re-write the exercise in the horizontal order.

Verb organizer

Each triangle on the left is meant to house three basic verb forms on its outside plus a related noun inside the triangle. The lines on the right are designed for selected phrases in which the verb commonly appears, and your own sentences illustrating its use. Two examples below show how both beginner and more advanced students may use the idea to their benefit.

Lexical organizer

This page is for listing collocations, words that always appear as partners. The principle is simple: words which go together in speech and writing should be recorded together on paper in the process of learning. You will surely find this organizer helpful when revising for serious exams — FCE, Matura, or IELTS. The page is divided into four parts, each part for one type of word partnership. They are illustrated below. As you feel more and more confident with finding and listing collocations, you may devote one page to just one powerful word in its numerous partnerships.
