I’d like to propose a toast

And here’s to I!
The man who cannot deny
But thinks that he is really fine.
The man who doesn’t like to be
In the center of everything
But he couldn’t think of anything else
Like writing this poem about someone else.
I have to tell you, believe me, it’s true
He likes to work fifteen hours a day
But when he has a day off, or two,
He sleeps until one pm.
The man who doesn’t like
When people get drunk
But he has so much fun
At the weekend,
With a bottle of whisky per hour.
I’ll drink to him!

    I’d like to propose a toast!
    Here’s to the lawyers who never lie
    It’s not that simple by the way
    Defending rapists
    And helping people to get divorced
    Another trial and another
    One worse than the other
    They have to listen to all that terrible stuff
    People do to each other
    Layers remember that, think about it
    And aren’t concerned about it at the same time
    I’ll drink to the lawyers who stay in a good mood
    To the lawyers who have time to play the guitar
    And learn English very hard
    I’ll drink to them, more than one drink.

    Toast to the men who are married
    Who live together with their wives in a house or flat
    Who can’t meet their friends every time they want
    Who can’t watch their favourite programmes and read papers whenever they want
    Who can’t drink without permission
    Who have to listen every day how lazy they are
    Who are forced to work hard at home and get emaciated
    Who have to be latino lovers at night after all day’s work
    Who have to earn money for their wives clothes and shoes
    Who have to tell their wives all day how pretty and clever they are
    Who can’t tell the police about all that
    Who can’t change their lives
    Who can’t be free as birds
    Who are prisoners of love
    I drink to them!

    I’d like to propose a toast!
    Here’s to the ecologists who fight for a pure environment,
    Protect nature,
    Save different species of animals
    And plants from dying out.
    The ecologists working all over the world
    And make us aware of the danger,
    Of the world heading for a disaster.
    I’ll drink to them.
