in rewind

+ + + a survivor and graduate + + + returning to the place that comes closest to the term “home” + + + getting a job, and thus, facing new challenges + + + being able to see my nearest and dearest each day after the return + + + discovering how brilliant “The Simpsons” are + + + continuing literary (Queneau, Houellebecq, Lacan) and musical (Battles, Saul Williams, Plum) discoveries + + + seeing a few decent gigs – Rage Against the Machine, William Basinski, Fennesz, Roni Size to name but a few + + + making up for quite a bunch of cinema classics + + + seeing Jagiellonia playing in Ekstraklasa and (hopefully) signing up Tomasz Frankowski + + +

- – - leaving the walls of university and Poznań, being abruptly disconnected from Dutch, from people I was beginning to make friends with, from the inexhaustible source of great books in the libraries there – - – having thoughts calling into question where “home” actually is – - – not too much holidays after too much studying, travelled too little – - – a longer break from fun creating music – - – Jagiellonia’s poor performance throughout the first half of the season – - – no time, no people, no place for a basketball game – - –
