The King is dead. Long live the King!

2007 is gone, we have a new king – 2008. Instead of making New Year’s resolutions none of us seems to really keep, couldn’t we just take a moment to think about our last year – what happened, what did it mean to us, did it change anything? I know we tend to write these pros and cons in gv, but this year I think I have another suggestion. It came to me on New Year’s Eve, when my cousin was playing guitar and singing a certain song that brought back the memories of 2007 and once again made me think what the year was actually about in my life. What would you say if you were to answer these questions

1. What was the past year like?

2. What did it bring or take?

3. Did it lift you up to the sky or throw you on the ground?

4. Did it change anything?

5. Or maybe it was just hope for better or for worse?

And here you can listen to the song.

    OK, here go my answers:

    1. My year was rather positive, a bit of a roller-coaster, though. In general.
    2. What 2007 brought was perhaps a greater knowledge of self on my part, which proved to be not that bad in the end :)
    3. Oh, it did throw me on the ground. On the other hand, I wouldn’t really like to fly in the sky – I am a very much of a down-to-earth person. I think.
    4. It did change a lot, although what “a lot” really means, is a relative question.
    5. There are some years that seem to be only this “hope for better or for worse” – a waiting room of some kind. Only you don’t really know what you are waiting for… I remember my very good friend once told me it is never good to just wait. So I didn’t, although it was not fully my own choice :)
