Luka

I’d like to to write a few words about my feelings related to the song I heard at the last week’s lesson. My opinion about the content of the song hasn’t changed at all. I think that my first impression was right.
In my opinion the hero of the song, Luka, is a very lonely young boy, who tries to tell what he feels in a miserable and unclear way. I belive that he is really scared and that’s why he isn’t open. He is probably affraid that his secret will be discoverd and that makes his situation even worse. It’s certain that Luka is a victim of violence at home. His parents hit him, without any reason. At first he tried to protect himself and asked why they behaved like that. Now, he doesn’t argue anymore, he even stopped crying.
Despite its cheerful music, the song is rather sad and reflective. Anybody who hears it may not suppose that the lyrics tell a really dark and upsetting story and it is a kind of plea for help.

Yes, it is surprising how little attention we pay to the lyrics of songs we hear on the radio. It often happens to me that I might like a song until at some point I realize what the lyrics is about, and then there comes this feeling of disappointment and anger: how a good song can be spoiled by lousy lyrics…
