blurb

For the last three weeks I’ve been in Leeds, West Yorkshire and I thought it to be a good idea to find time to sit in front of the computer and write how cool this place is. But, now when I’ve finnally found time to do it I guess I’ve lost my enthusiasm a bit…

Two most adorable things for a city to have are: parks and hills. Leeds has both.

Can you imagine that Leeds United aren’t even in the Premiership? I don’t think I’ll want their t-shirt, although they have them on sale now, really cheap.

hmmm, I’m off, for a tetley’s lager, in the park, at Beeston Hill

I’ll come later perhaps

Lager? Fine, you’re over 18. In the park? Are you allowed to drink in public where you are?
Well, if that’s going to bring your enthusiasm back… go, but please return to tell what you saw from the top of the hill. Keep goin’, don’t slacken off!

Those Leeds hills you mentioned remind me of this beautiful song by The Beatles which I once used in a lesson, and which I’m now going to copy-and-paste neatly to make this comment absurdly long. For good reason perhaps.

Day after day, alone on the hill\\
The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still\\
But nobody wants to know him\\
They can see that he’s just a fool\\
And he never gives an answer \ldots \\!

But the fool on the hill\\
    Sees the sun going down\\
And the eyes in his head\\
    See the world spinning round\\!

Well on his way, his head in a cloud\\
The man of a thousand voices talking perfectly loud\\
    But nobody ever hears him\\
Or the sound he appears to make\\
And he never seems to notice \ldots \\!

But the fool on the hill\\
    Sees the sun going down\\
And the eyes in his head\\
    See the world spinning round\\!

    Dah dah dah dah\\
    Dah dah dah dah dahm\\
Dooh dooh dooh dooh dooh dooh dahm dahm\\
    Dahm dah dah dahm\\!

And nobody seems to like him\\
They can tell what he wants to do\\
And he never shows his feelings\\!

But the fool on the hill\\
    Sees the sun going down\\
And the eyes in his head\\
    See the world spinning round\\!
