A midweek evening with …

What do most people prefer to do on a Wednsday evening? I think most of them wouldn’t even notice what day it is. I always do, because it’s the only free evening I have. Tonight it was special, because I had two cautious optimists, my husband and my former teacher, at the table, talking about fundamental things in life. It was too much for me. I couldn’t understand why men are so sophisticated.
One more benefit of learning English

Last year in gimnazjum can be really hectic. You have to care more about your marks and test results than you have ever had. This means a lot of studying, which scares every student.
In March, I took part in the English competition and was one of the five finalists in Podlasie, who can apply to any high school they want, practically they simply jump the queues. So that’s the benefit: when my peers shiver with fright about the recruitment, when there are up to three candidates for every place, I can idle around my house and prepare for holiday trips, positive that I will learn in the school I chose. And I couldn’t care less about my last year in the ‘beloved’ gimnazjum.
GV end of school year show

So… I was asked to comment on the performance (?an objective observer?, that?s what you call it). I guess it wasn’t a very good idea… Me commenting? But well, never mind, I?ll do my best. The show was great fun. As my friend told me when we were waiting for everything to start – ?you could feel the positive GV energy in the air?. ;) And I believe that describes the show best. It was so GV-like – entertaining, amusing and witty. C2 kids were just amazing and ‘Romeo and Juliet’ cast kept forgetting their lines and it certainly added a unique feel of chaos and unpredictability to the show. Though there was some confusion in ?The Enormous Crocodile? story, the kids did a very good job. The costumes were really professional and you could tell it took a lot of time and effort to prepare them. All in all, I think it?s a pity there were no such shows when I was in GV for so many years? And that?s certain ? we want more! ;)

Well, a bit of showing off now – I have my IELTS results finally. And they are… amazing. Unbelievable. Just great.
Listening – 8.5
Reading – 8.5
Writing – 7
Speaking – 7.
And overall score – 8.0.
(And I don’t really know how I managed to achieve it. Somebody must have mistaken something…)
