Here’s an article excerpt from the yahoo.co.uk website for you:

“Apple introduces iPhone

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – Apple Computer Inc. on Tuesday unveiled an iPod mobile phone featuring a large, smooth colour screen, sending its shares up 8 percent as the company attempts to parlay its dominance in digital music players into new areas of growth.

Shaped like a thin deck of cards without the normal buttons or flip top on a mobile phone, Apple’s device features a 3.5 inch (8.9 cm) touch screen for navigating phone calls and playing songs and videos…”

Are you surprised? Do you think it is probable that our “normal” TP S.A. phones will soon completely disappear and we will use some other advanced technology to communicate with our friends? Write a few sentences expressing your views, pay attention especially to patterns concerning probability (The chances are…; It is likely/ unlikely… etc. – course book, page 43).

I read about it two days ago, then I saw it yesterday on TVN24 eating brekfast, now I’m reading about “i” on gv blog. I just love the design, tech specs i really good also. Everything needed – phone, mp3, high-quality video player – in just one device. Hope it will be available in Poland soon, because I’m going to earn for it and then buy.

It’s highly likely that in some time traditional homephones will be replaced by a new high-technology machines to communicate people.

There’re good chances of having modern video cameras in our phones to see our partner in conversation.

If the phonecalles are cheaper, it’s likely that many people will get rid of their homephones and use only their cells.

It’s highly likely that the means of communication will become more and more sophisticated. Its due to the market war, to sell more and more, and party dou to the demandof customers. In my opionion regular phones disappearance is highly unlikely in the upcomming yours but the whole proces in long time persprective is unevitable

it’s not a suprise, technology is getting more and more advanced so such improvements are rather obvious. it’s highly probable that in some period of time telephones like iPhone would be in the general use.
i’m not sure if traditional phones will disapear in the nearest future. there are good chances that we wouldn’t live to see a life without tp sa phones. it’s highly probable that traditional phones wouldn’t be commonly used in the future (because of many high-tech. improvemnets) but they will exist as antiques:P
